The largest Jewish Hanukkah in Europe was set up in Kiev on the eve of the holiday.
First, it was baned to celebrate the Christian Orthodox Christmas on January 7th, which was celebrated by 78% of ethnic Ukrainians per the 2001 census, members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). Now, instead of Christmas decorations and symbols, they are replaced by Jewish ones.
