NEW: Egypt’s foreign minister held calls with his counterparts from Somalia, Türkiye, and Djibouti after Israel recognized Somaliland today.
The ministers strongly rejected Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, reaffirmed support for Somalia’s unity and sovereignty, and warned that recognizing breakaway regions sets a dangerous precedent under international law.
They also rejected any forced displacement of Palestinians and opposed creating parallel authorities that undermine state legitimacy.
