Israel Hayom reports that Donald Trump’s international plan for Gaza is unraveling as country after country refuses to contribute troops to the proposed International Stabilization Force. Azerbaijan, once considered a likely participant, has now officially withdrawn, telling Israel it will not risk soldiers’ lives in Gaza.
With no nation willing to take on disarming Hamas and other factions, or enforcing the demilitarization mandate outlined in UN Security Council Resolution 2803, Israeli officials increasingly admit the multinational force will not materialize. Netanyahu and Trump’s team have reached an understanding: if no outside actor steps in, Israel will undertake Gaza’s demilitarization alone.
Inside Israel’s security cabinet, Israeli military and security officials claimed that Hamas is using the ceasefire to rearm, rebuild its ranks, and collect dual-use materials through international aid channels. Netanyahu told ministers that every day Washington searches for international partners, the movement grows stronger, and that reconstruction must not begin until full demilitarization is enforced.
According to Israel Hayom, Israeli military leaders insist that Israeli occupation forces must maintain permanent positions across the Strip even if Hamas voluntarily disarms, and that no part of Gaza should be rebuilt before resistance factions are dismantled.
