Dr Rahmeh Aladwan was arrested this morning on suspicion of inciting racial hatred. It seems the arresting officers referenced comments she made on this platform - and others - whereby she claimed that Israel has no right to exist and that Health Secretary Wes Streeting is effectively in thrall to the genocidal state and its agents in Britain.
This is an outrage, of course. You may not agree with her. Indeed, you may find her comments offensive, but she has every right to speak her mind. You should support her right to freedom of thought and expression, whatever you think of her. We are on the precipice of authoritarianism. Maybe we're already there.
Typically, Toby Young's Free Speech Union is nowhere to be seen. Toby's mob will defend your right to speak so long as what you say meets their approval. What's the point of that?
