Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the next stage after the return of Israeli captives will be the destruction of all tunnels used by resistance fighters in Gaza, carried out “directly by the IDF and through the international mechanism to be established under the leadership and supervision of the United States.” He called this the central step in “implementing the agreed-upon principle” of demilitarizing Gaza and neutralizing Hamas’s weapons, and said he has ordered the IDF to prepare for the mission.
