Maariv reports that Tel Aviv has delivered a threat to Paris over France’s recognition of Palestine at the UN: “There will be a harsh Israeli response.”
The enemy is preparing escalatory steps, among them annexation moves in the West Bank, shutting down the French consulate in Jerusalem, and even seizing a site under French sovereignty, the Alona Temple. France, for its part, is said to be preparing for confrontation as tensions with Israel deepen.
Recognition of Palestine has now opened a diplomatic front where Israel threatens European states directly, exposing the fragility of its position and its willingness to gamble on escalation against allies when cornered.
