Here are several points that bear endless repetition. Israelis have known the extent of Israel's crimes in Gaza since they began on October 7th, 2023. Israelis have supported and enabled the genocide in various ways. Many participated actively. Many more offered passive and silent support. Any claim on the part of Israelis that they were "kept in the dark" or "hijacked by extremists" is mendacious. The only logic behind auch claims is based on the most thorough dehumanization of the Palestinians. Protests calling for "an end to the war" provide Israel with the leeway necessary to continuenthe genocide at leisure. The genocide, the fulfillment of the collective fantasy - to be rid of the Palestinians once and for all, to live out the ultimate colonialist fantasy - these are the universal constants of Israeli policy and action. We have always fantasized. We have always known.
