Go back 100 or 1000 years and try to find a Jew in the Middle East who actually speaks Hebrew at home. They're all speaking Arabic. Even the rabbis would only use it for liturgical reasons, and it wasn't this cocktail of Yiddish and Arabic that Israelis try to pass off as Hebrew.
