Meanwhile, this is a good opportunity to kindly remind France and other states:
1. of their non-derogable obligation to realise the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, which is the right to be free and determine themselves as a people (broader and deeper than statehood).
2. that State recognition should not distract from the critical obligations to:
(i) take measures to prevent further acts of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity (arms embargo and sanctions are unavoidable at this point);
(ii) end and punish genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity;
(iii) ensure the end of and reparation for Israel's unlawful occupation and apartheid;
(iv) help investigate and prosecute those who have committed, enabled and profited from int'l crimes in the oPt, starting with own nationals (illegal settlers, businesses etc).
