This is why it is much more accurate to say that the US and other western governments are controlled by Zionism, and not by "israel," because their involvement with the Zionist movement greatly predates the existence of "israel."
For example, that the British colonial charter for Virginia was essentially given to the wealthy Jewish merchants who ran those various transnational trading companies who were greatly involved in the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Then there is also the role of Haym Salomon in funding the American revolution. Then there are the various Zionist groups like the Parushim, outlined in Alison Weir's book "Against Our Better Judgement," which got the US to enter WW1 in exchange for the Balfour Declaration.
Through all those historical nodes mentioned above, "israel" did not exist as an entity. It especially notes that America's very existence is Zionist, from its very foundations as a collection of British colonies and into its so-called "independence." Therefore, when Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that "israel" does not control America, but the other way around, he is actually correct, and his statement does not contradict Ayatollah Khamenei's statement which said that "America is the agent of global Zionism." He could have said that America is the agent of "israel," but that would have been an inaccurate misnomer. America is the head of the Zionist snake and the decision-maker.

Rather, they have been party to all those crimes, since a minority group like Jewish supremacists cannot get control without the consent and complacency of the majority population that is equally as racist, corrupt, and sinful as them, with a shared mindset of supremacism that gives them a right to dominate the world.
America was born to be Zionist. That is why it is not simply limited to money spent by the Zionist and/or "israeli" lobby. Qatar and Saudi Arabia spent a lot of money on Trump this year alone, including a massive palace-like luxury jumbo jet, but that hasn't gotten the US to treat Qatar or Saudi Arabia like they treat Zionism or "israel." They are ideologically and spiritually bound, money just seals the deal and gives a bunch of Jewish supremacists a chance to make money with jobs in these organization, but money itself does not drive western governments' loyalty to Zionism. Otherwise, they would all be touching the wall of a luxury shopping mall in Qatar like they do with the wall in Jerusalem.
