They want the Iranians to be so scared that they will run to the streets and welcome Western soldiers with flowers and singing. I think this method is extremely stupid when it comes to a country of this size, cohesion, ethos, and a close network of capable allies. I also think that Iran has better stamina for this than Israel and the US. Iranians will fight for years and not surrender. Israel, on the other hand, will only take a few weeks to break under serious pressure. It cannot even have normal international movement of people and goods already, and the destruction has been minimal. 1% of what Iran can do. This war is a catastrophically stupid Netanyahu-Israeli idea. They need to be ready for a very serious and prolonged degradation of their quality of life - and that's on top of an already destroyed international reputation
