That cartoon isn’t just history. It’s prophecy. And the empire knows it.

Thank you for sharing that image, Kathleen. That 1876 cartoon says everything. A man stands over a murdered child and calls it "self-defense." Not because the child posed a threat but because she might have grown up with power. That’s not just a window into the past. It’s a mirror for the present. The logic hasn’t changed. Kill them now, so they never get to stand. Bomb them now, so they never get to speak. Erase them now, so you never have to answer to them later. It was the justification for slavery. It was the justification for Jim Crow. It was the justification for Native genocide. And today, it is the justification for Gaza. They don’t fear resistance because it’s violent. They fear it because it’s justified. They fear the future where the people they’ve silenced are no longer silent. Where the child they tried to bury grows up and names the crime. Where the grave stops being the last word. That cartoon isn’t just history. It’s prophecy. And the empire knows it.
