Our ABC, to its everlasting shame, has in effect been found guilty of caving to the Israel lobby.
ABC has been found by the Federal Court to have wrongfully dismissed ABC journalist & to have made six breaches of law in doing so.
The Court found a staff manager wrongly sacked Lattouf—after inappropriately coming under pressure from the ABC Managing Director and the ABC Board Chair—who themselves were shamefully responding to a pressure campaign by the pro-Israel lobby.
Lattouf was awarded personal damages to be paid by the ABC.
The Court will decide the extent of punitive damages to be paid by the ABC.
