Netanyahu May Have No Choice But to Accept Ceasefire: Israeli Political Analyst In an interview with Al Jazeera, Israeli political analyst Ori Goldberg said Israel is likely to accept the current U.S.-brokered ceasefire proposal with Hamas—despite public denials. “Israel has nowhere to go,” he said, adding that the military campaign is unsustainable and Israel has reached the limits of its “military, strategic, and political world.” Goldberg argued that the pressure on Netanyahu is coming almost entirely from outside Israel. He pointed to signs of growing global isolation, from European sporting bodies questioning Israeli participation to increasing academic and investment boycotts. “There is a sense among Israelis that the world is turning against them,” Goldberg said, adding that even Donald Trump may now see Netanyahu as a “loser,” and cumulatively, all those factors are likely to force Netanyahu to back down.
