Imagine avoiding "politics" in a time of genocide?

I was invited to speak at this MIT conference this weekend. I didn't really have the time or inclination, but I don't like to say no to students. Following a mass exodus of other speakers due to my involvement, I offered to withdraw and the committee agreed that was best. The objection of some House Arabs is that my presence threatened to inject a political tone into the conference. Imagine avoiding "politics" in a time of genocide? Imagine the delusion that there are hard lines between politics and technology. What kind of cognitive dissonance is required hold such belief when science is endlessly weaponized to sever Palestinians from their land and heritage—from genetics and botany, to taxonomy and ecology; and when the greatest death and surveillance technology is deployed to shred, burn, and dismember our bodies, our homes, trees, birds. What a disgrace these so called "tech leaders" or "business leaders" who cannot fathom the connection between tech and genocide. But maybe they do. They're not stupid. Are they just careerist cowards and sycophants, then? A couple of emails sent my way, one from , the other from Habib Haddad from . They apparently represent 70% of the speakers at this conference. Zionists must be so proud of them.
