Part 2/3 A Deeper Analysis of the Scofield Bible.
The Bible that Scofield keeps editing from his grave.
The first edition of the Scofield Bible (1909) was published only a few years before World War I and then additional footnotes were added in 1917. The world, post-World War II, witnessed the creation of a Jewish homeland in Palestine, and those who were following Scofield's premillennialism...it all seemed prophetic. Most people did not know that the Jewish bankers provoked and funded both sides of the World Wars, with the intention of creating a Jewish ethnocracy in Palestine.
By the end of World War II sales of the Reference Bible had exceeded two million copies. Each of these sold Bibles was used by preachers to convince millions more.
Even though Scofield died in 1921, the Scofield Reference Bible was again edited under Scofield's name in 1967 and further footnotes were added dwarfing the actual text. The goal of each edit was to deify a state, to elevate the Jews while linking them to promised land in the Middle East while downplaying the conditional status of that covenant.
The verses that are mostly used to propagate Jewish superiority are from Genesis 12:1-3. which reads:
“Now the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse; and in you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Prophet Jacob (pbuh) aka Israel was the grandchild of Prophet Abraham(pbuh). Abraham did not have any children in this biblical time frame. So there was no person or nation named Israel at this time. How did Scofield and the Oxford Press interpret this verse as God promising the land to Israel forever?
