Moody’s economists are sounding alarms about rising deficits and the government’s loss of budgetary control. The Manufacturers’ Association, hardly a radical body, confesses it has not seen such a grim economic picture in years. Half of Israeli exporters have had contracts canceled outright, with 76% reporting direct harm from the war. The numbers are devastating: 84% of manufacturers saw cancellations from the European Union, 31% from the United States, and 54% of new clients refuse to deal with Israel altogether. Importers, too, face mass cancellations.

The cracks in Israel’s economic façade are widening, and Yedioth Ahronoth itself admits it. Exporters and importers report a collapse in foreign trade relations, deals canceled, meetings scrapped, and even “friendly” states demanding photos deleted and contacts concealed. What used to be warm welcomes and lucrative contracts has become cold avoidance, as Israel’s brand is now so toxic that partners won’t even be seen with its representatives.
