🇵🇸🇺🇳 UN: Hundreds of bodies recovered from Gaza rubble raise fresh war crimes concerns UN human rights chief Volker Türk said Tuesday that the recovery of hundreds of bodies from buildings destroyed by Israeli attacks in Gaza has renewed concerns over violations of international humanitarian law, warning that the remains found so far could be “only the tip of the iceberg,” Reuters reported. Palestinian authorities estimate more than 8,000 people remain buried under the rubble. This month alone, Palestinian Civil Defense crews recovered 96 bodies and remains from one site in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, including 58 children and 23 women. Türk called for international investigators to be granted access to Gaza to preserve evidence, adding that Israel has blocked the entry of heavy machinery needed to clear the rubble.
