September 22, 2026, New York. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi addressed the UN General Assembly. He did not say, "We call upon the international community." He did not say, "We hope the Security Council takes action." What he said was:

"Trust in the United Nations has been destroyed."

This was not "criticism." It was a diagnosis. It was not a "call for reform." It was a declaration of death.

Araghchi’s speech contained three key sentences that Western media overlooked:

The first: "Certain countries believe they can do whatever they please."
Translation: The United States. The US vetoes every resolution against Israel in the Security Council. The US targets 85% of Iran's oil tankers. The US blocks Iran's nuclear chief from attending IAEA meetings. The US violates the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding it signed itself. The US believes international law does not apply to it.

The second: "If an individual in Iran faces a problem, they shed crocodile tears and make a loud outcry. Yet, in the face of crimes committed against us, we see no serious condemnation."
Translation: An Iranian gets into trouble Western media headlines. 168 Iranian girls killed by US bombs Western media silence. This is not "double standards." This is selective humanity.

The third: "Iran will use the UN General Assembly to tell the world about its war victims including 168 children and to expose why trust in the United Nations has collapsed."
Translation: The UN General Assembly is not merely a "diplomatic venue." It is a courtroom where an indictment is read. Araghchi did not come to "make appeals." He came to testify.

168 girls. Minab. Al-Shajarah Al-Tayyibah Elementary School. Ages 6 to 12. They were simply going to school.

The "collapse of trust" Araghchi spoke of is not rhetoric. The UN Security Council is paralyzed by the US veto. The UN Human Rights Council has been politicized by the West. UNRWA faces accusations from Israel and suspended funding from the US. The UN Secretary-General can only "call for restraint" in the face of the genocide in Gaza.

Trust was not merely "destroyed."  It was deliberately dismantled—dismantled by those nations that "believe they can do whatever they please."

Araghchi did not go to New York to "plead for help." He went to read out an autopsy report. And the names of 168 girls formed the report's first page.
