An overwhelming majority of Arabs oppose recognition of Israel (87%). Why is that? We're constantly told Arabs refuse to accept Israel because of anti-semitism or on religious grounds. Far from that, the truth is that the vast majority of Arabs reject Israel because they (rightly) see that Israel is occupying Palestine, or is an expansionist state seeking to dominate the region, or has expelled Palestinians and continues to oppress them, or engages in terrorism etc. Only a tiny minority (2.3%) cite religious grounds for opposing the recognition of Israel (the high in 2020 was 6.7%).
