Reza Pahlavi’s grandfather was brought to power by British colonial interest, and later removed and exiled by the imperial interests of the allies. His father was reinstated through a U.S.-engineered coup. Today, he is openly appealing to the very same imperial powers to intervene once again. This is not patriotism. It reflects a profound disregard for human dignity and a willful ignorance of the devastation that foreign intervention, particularly by the powers he is now urging to act, has inflicted on Iran. To plead for external military involvement while positioning oneself as a national leader is to reproduce the very logic of domination that has repeatedly undermined Iranian sovereignty and social life. Pathetic, truly pathetic! #IranProtests
