In 2000, US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright (or Halfbright, as the late Edward W. Said preferred to call her) offered a mea culpa for past US interference in Iranian domestic affairs. Pointedly, this included a formal acknowledgement of the US's "significant role" in the 1953 coup that overthrew the country's democratically-elected leader, Mohammed Mossadegh. But as far as the author below is concerned, Operation Ajax is just a "myth".
