Ghastly Milei got $40 billion from D.C. without breaking a sweat. How?
Robert Citrone, hedge fund billionaire and co-founder of Discovery Capital Management, bought Argentine debt and equity like there’s no tomorrow. As Milei kept destroying the economy, Citrone was on the way to apocalyptic losses.
He picks up the phone and calls Treasury Sec. Bessent - who he had made VERY wealthy in the past. Bessent sets up a $40 billion bail out: $20 billion directly from the federal government, and the other $20 billion from “private" investors - BUT WITH A FEDERAL GUARANTEE.
All that approved by the Circus Ringmaster.
No wonder Milei won his mid-terms. Argentina will NEVER pay back these $40 billion. The suckers? American tax-payers.
