A mass killing of over 100,000 Palestinian children is now imminent in the Gaza Strip. According to the Government Media Office in Gaza, infants under the age of two, nearly half of them less than a year old, are facing death within days due to a total absence of infant formula and nutritional supplements. This is the result of a deliberate, sustained policy of starvation enforced by the Israeli occupation through the continued closure of border crossings and the systematic denial of aid.
Hospitals and health centers have recorded hundreds of new cases of acute malnutrition each day, with no supplies and no capacity to treat them. Mothers are now forced to feed their babies water. The health system has collapsed. As of today, 122 people have died from hunger, including 83 children, and that number is rising by the hour.
The world has been formally warned: if infant formula does not reach Gaza within days, tens of thousands of babies will die in full view of the international community. The Israeli government, and every state enabling this blockade, will be complicit in an atrocity of historic proportions. Continued silence is no longer neutrality, it is participation.
