We are in the same place as 1948: David Ben-Gurion (Israel’s first prime minister) was not arrested for genocide. In 2013, int’l law prof Francis Boyle: “Certainly, Israel and its predecessors-in-law—the Zionist agencies, forces, and terrorist gangs—have committed genocide against the Palestinian people that actually started on or about 1948 and has continued apace until today in violation of Genocide Convention Articles II(a), (b), and (c)… Zionism’s “final solution” to Israel’s much-touted and racist “demographic threat” allegedly posed by the very existence of the Palestinians has always been genocide, whether slow-motion or in blood-thirsty spurts of violence. Indeed, the very essence of Zionism requires ethnic cleansing and acts of genocide against the Palestinians.” countercurrents.org/boyle300813.htm
Btw, Jenin (2002) was not the worst of Ariel Sharon’s crimes. Sharon was also involved in genocidal state terrorism that left a long trail of massacred victims from Tantura (1948) to Qibya (1953) to Qalqilya (1956) to Gaza (1967, 1971) to Sabra & Shatila (1983) to Second Intifada (2000 - 2005). In December 1982, the UN General Assembly condemned the Sabra & Shatila massacre as an act of genocide. Following the Kahan Commission’s report, Sharon feared Israel and he could be prosecuted for genocide. haaretz.com/2013-02-21/ty-
