That's chilling. When reflecting on the conclusions of my second & third reports—addressing Israel's mass arbitrary deprivation of liberty of Palestinians & the harrowing conditions facing Palestinian children under occupation—I couldn't help but recognize something I had intuited without fully realizing it at the time.
"The likelihood of these offenses being cumulatively committed as part of a policy of ‘de-Palestinization’ of the occupied territory and of a plan to incrementally annex it must be urgently investigated: such a plan would threaten the right of an entire people to
exist as a national group, challenging the very foundations of the international legal order." (A/HRC/53/59)
The genocidal logic was already there: undeniably present.
