"SOLIDARITY IS NOT CHARITY. SOLIDARITY IS THE POLITICAL DECLARATION OF LOVE."
Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur, making a surprise appearance at a sold-out arena in Paris.
For four years, she has documented what is being done to the Palestinians. The slaughter. The torture. The attempt to erase an entire people. She told the crowd she described it truthfully, without bending her words to accommodate power.
She pointed out that the system currently arming and shielding this genocide didn't begin in Palestine. It was built over centuries of domination, extractivism, and turning lives into commodities.
But she had a message for those in power who arrest protesters instead of stopping the bombs:
"Work with us. Not against us. And do that for you and for your children."
"Work with us. Not against us. And do that for you and for your children."
