U.S. Midterm Consequence Preview

The Republicans are very likely going to lose significantly in the upcoming midterms election.
The Democrats will retake a majority in the House and likely also the Senate.
On Judging Freedom Robert Barnes, who is claimed to have internal contacts in the White House, is predicting a shellacking (video):
They’re behind in more than 240 House seats currently by their own internal polling.
They could lose over 260 House seats due to the way early voting is trending. And in the Senate, they’re currently behind in 55 Senate races or within the margin of error within those races. Uh and there’s three more races that they’re carefully watching. I mean, you even have Senator Cotton in Arkansas spending money on campaign advertising because he’s concerned about single digit margin.
Starting in January in the new House investigations against Trump and the people working for him will be launched immediately. In nine to twelve months there will be the first impeachments. From January onward, Trump will be a lame duck.
This outcome is the price President Trump has to pay for diverting from nearly all of his campaign promises. He did not end the war in Ukraine. He has launched a completely unnecessary war against Iran (twice) which led to a significant inflation increase. He has enriched himself through unethical schemes (crypto). The people around him are openly corrupt.
Trump will respond by firing some of his people. To regain some standing, he may try to shut down the two wars – Iran and Ukraine – he is directly involved in.
The first pawn to go will be Secretary of Defense Hegseth. Nobody will lose a tear for him.
The two people behind the war in Iran are Trump’s chief of staff (and Netanyahoo confident) Susie Wiles, as well as Trump’s Mossad handler and son in law Jared Kushner. There are plenty of reasons, including corruption, to fire both.
To end the war in Ukraine will necessitate to get rid of CIA Director Ratcliffe. It is the CIA, not the Pentagon, which is running the show in Kiev. This will be difficult to do as Ratcliffe is a deep-state plant. The Democrats want to continue the war in Ukraine and give him some cover.
The real mess for Trump will only start after the popping AI bubble drags down the markets. The damage to people’s prosperity will be huge and there is little that he can do about it. But there are still a few month until that happens. After that it will be Treasury Secretary Bessent who will be fired.
There is a significant chance that Trump will not survive the next two years.
I have no feeling yet how the first presidency of JD Vance might pan out.
