And you do not get to freeze history on October 7.

October 7 was not the beginning of this conflict. It was a node in a much longer history of occupation, blockade, displacement, settlement expansion, and recurring cleansing.

You cannot choose the day your side suffered, erase the decades before it, then erase the tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians massacred afterward.

That is not history.
It is narrative editing.

Fascist Japan tried the same trick with Hiroshima and Nagasaki: begin the moral clock at the moment your own civilians suffer, as if all the war crimes committed prior to that had instantly vanished.

You cannot use the last chapter to erase the previous eighty pages.

Civilian suffering deserves recognition, but that suffering in itself cannot absolve the party that committed the massacre of responsibility for it.
