The cost of order.

Because if it's the cost of order, then the alternative is disorder. Chaos. Something worse.

And who wants something worse?

The framing does the work before the argument begins.

You are not being asked to weigh the lives of people in sanctioned countries against American strategic interest.

You are being asked whether you prefer order or chaos.

And reasonable people prefer order.

So the reasonable position becomes: accept the deaths, because the alternative is worse.

The deaths are never weighed against an alternative that might actually serve both security and humanity.

Because the system is not set up to produce that question.

The system is set up to produce a binary: our order, with its costs, or their chaos.

And inside that binary, the people dying from the costs of the order are simply the price of the only reasonable option.

That is how you train a civilization to see mass death as policy.

You stop letting them see it as a choice.
