BREAKING: Iran says it struck the US nuclear aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) on Sept. 5 at a range of 500 kilometers, and that after the attack not a single US warship remained in the Persian Gulf, down from around 30, with all US vessels now holding at least 400 kilometers off the Iranian coast, per IRGC spokesperson.

Iran attributes the pullback to Iran's new missiles, saying Iranian forces can strike beyond 400 kilometers. The Qasem Basir medium-range anti-ship ballistic missile used against the carrier on Sept. 5 has a range of about 1,200 kilometers.
