Germany is at the International Court of Justice arguing that the duty to prevent genocide is only triggered after a genocide has taken place. This insane argument was previously made in court by the UK government when justifying the supply of fighter jet components to Israel.

It is pretty remarkable to watch Germany stand up at the world court to argue that: "A finding of failure to prevent genocide is dependent on a prior finding that genocide has taken place." In other words, states' duty to prevent genocide is not justiciable until it is too late.
