fighting antisemitism must never become an excuse to silence people who condemn Israel’s actions in Gaza.

ITALY IS RISING UP. Across more than 40 cities, people have taken to the streets against Italy’s antisemitism bill — a measure critics say would write the IHRA definition into law and blur the line between hatred of Jews and criticism of the Israeli state. In Rome, protesters gathered outside parliament as the bill moved toward a final vote. Their message was simple and necessary: fighting antisemitism must never become an excuse to silence people who condemn Israel’s actions in Gaza. This is bigger than one demonstration. Across the world, the battle over who is allowed to speak, protest, and expose what is happening in Gaza is intensifying. You cannot legislate the truth into silence. You cannot criminalise conscience. And people are refusing to be intimidated. Criticism of a government is not hatred of a people. Anti-Zionism is not antisemitism. Solidarity with Palestinians is not a crime.🇮🇹🇵🇸
