Did you know the jews tried to scrub the Bible clean of Jesus in the third century and got absolutely bodied by Origen of Alexandria?

Most Christians today think the Masoretic Hebrew text is the pure word of God. 

But… they have been lied to. They think it’s the original uncorrupted source but it’s actually a product of a systematic post temple jewish effort to kill off the Messianic witness.

Back in the day Origen of Alexandria wasn’t having it. He sat down and put together the Hexapla which is a six column “study Bible” document that lined up the Hebrew of his day against the Greek Septuagint (the Bible the Apostles actually used). 

It was a forensic audit of the jewish manuscript tampering.

When he laid it all out, the discrepancy was undeniable. Origen found that the Hebrew manuscripts the rabbis were peddling were missing massive chunks of text, coincidentally the very stuff that pointed to Jesus being the Messiah. 

And it wasn’t just missing a few letters but they were actually cutting out the heart of the prophecies. 

Origen had to use a specific set of symbols just to mark where they had carved out the truth. So he caught them redhanded and he documented exactly where they were altering the text to cover their tracks.

The real disaster started with Saint Jerome tho. He is the one who gave us the Vulgate translation while he got played like a fiddle. 

He headed off to Bethlehem, sat down with these same rabbis and let them convince him that their “Hebraica Veritas” was the only version that mattered. 

Unfortunately he took that bait... He dumped the Septuagint (the 3d century BC version always used by the early Church) and swapped it for the jewish sanitized version..

Ever since then Western Christianity has been reading an Old Testament that was filtered by the very people who hated Christ and wanted his memory erased. 

So the West has been living with the consequences of that bait and switch for nearly two millennia. So really the Masoretic text isn’t a pure holy relic but actually a sanitized edit. 

The evidence of the corruption was laid out in the Hexapla centuries ago but the Catholic Church still decided it was easier to follow Jerome’s lead than to actually confront the jews who corrupted the text in the first place.

The East (the Orthodox Church) always kept using the original Septuagint as the official authoritative text for the Old Testament.

So bottom line, jews always tried to distort the truth and corrupt Christianity since the very beginning. And the West blindly accepted it while the East did not.
