🚨🇺🇸 🇮🇷: Trump reportedly called off the massive attack on Iran because America is running low on Patriot interceptors... -Per the NYT, Trump has set aside plans to sharply escalate the war, persuaded in part by his military advisers' warnings about the Pentagon's diminished stockpile of Patriot interceptors -Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine privately cautioned that major combat operations were doable but would DANGEROUSLY deplete the interceptors defending U.S. troops in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE -The math behind the warning: more than 1,200 Patriots fired this war at over $4 million apiece, with inventories "worrisomely low" in April and worse since -Few if any in Trump's inner circle backed escalation, with one senior official saying the strikes keep Iran cohesive and focused on an external threat, the opposite of the intent -Kushner and other advisers pushed the alternative: longer-term negotiations and economic pressure, with Bessent noting China already cut Iranian crude purchases roughly 40% -The White House's framing: Trump "prefers a diplomatic solution" but retains all options, and Iran "knows what will happen" The war's biggest decision came down to battle arithmetic NOBODY could spin. A bigger campaign means bigger Iranian barrages, and the interceptors that eat those barrages are running out at $4 million a shot. Three soldiers died when one missile slipped through defenses working at full strength. Caine's warning is what that math looks like briefed to a president, and for once the brief won.
