The US is subsidizing Israel's arms industry and Israel is raking in billions from it. Israel posted a record $19.2 billion in arms exports in 2025, making it one of the world's largest arms exporters. Thanks in large part to American military financing, co-development programs, and U.S. intellectual property that helped build that industry from the ground up. And Israel's massive weapons footprint is doing more than printing cash. Countries that buy Israeli weapons get locked into long-term contracts that make them less likely to hold Israel accountable for its actions in Gaza, Lebanon, and the West Bank. Governments that might otherwise respond to public pressure for sanctions now face the prospect of degrading their own air defenses if they do. This is precisely what's happening with America's proposed NDAA, which includes a provision that would further integrate Israeli companies into U.S. military supply chains.
