JUST IN: Iran has formally withdrawn from its Memorandum of Understanding with the United States, declaring the June 17 truce agreement effectively dead and accusing Washington of completely dismantling it by reinstating its naval blockade.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said the U.S. blockade "completely dismantled" the Islamabad MoU, arguing it went far beyond a simple violation.
"The United States came and violated all of its commitments under this memorandum. With tonight's action, the MoU has been completely dismantled," he said.
