Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi just dropped the mask on the Strait of Hormuz:
“The Strait is under the sovereignty of Iran and Oman. It is not an international waterway.
The old free system is over. Future management will not be like the past.”
Iran is saying they now own the chokepoint and will run it on their terms; tolls, control, whatever they want. No more pretending.
After all the chaos, Tehran is already rewriting the rules before the ink is even dry on any deal.
This is going to be expensive.
