Fmr director of the National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent says Trump faces a false choice between cutting a worse deal than Obama’s or being dragged into a war worse than Bush’s.
His alternative:
“Declare victory and walk away”, pull out troops, cut aid to Israel, and quietly deal with Iran.
He says that this would remove Iran’s incentive to choke the Strait of Hormuz.
