THE U.S. IS RACING TOWARD A STRATEGIC CLIFF.
In the latest Daniel Davis Deep Dive, I argue that the current U.S. strategy regarding the Iran war is detached from physical reality. While leadership stumbles cluelessly fwd. without a strategy, I highlight a terrifying asymmetry in capabilities that puts the entire global economy at risk.
We are ignoring the reality of the situation: "President Trump is leaning us towards (an economic) cliff. And if we don't put the brakes on pretty quick, we're going to roll right off the edge of it."
Iran possesses the capacity to strike targets that would "destroy our economy and will devastate the global energy system."
Ultimately, the U.S. is facing a potential disaster where we lack the strategic petroleum reserves to recover, leaving us in "literally the worst of all worlds" where there is neither a diplomatic end nor a "walk away" plan, resulting in us in a dangerous drift, while consequences pile up daily.
This reckless course in the Middle East conflict risks a permanent strategic and military loss for the nation that could have been avoided with common sense.
