President Trump confirms that Iran will continue to enrich uranium but it would only be able to enrich at “low levels”, that could never be used by the military under any future nuclear agreement.

BREAKING NEWS--President Trump has reportedly dropped his demand for a 15-20 year suspension if not total ban, on all Iranian nuclear enrichment as his administration has been pushing for since May 2025. During an interview with The New York Times, Trump emphasized that the envisioned deal would permit Iran to maintain a civilian nuclear program while strictly limiting its military applications. Trump insisted that Iran would be permanently restricted to low-level enrichment that "could never be used by the military." Iranian media said this statement signifies a concession by Trump on Iran's demand for "zero uranium enrichment." This would seem to indicate that he has become realistic enough to understand that the best deal he could possibly get with Iran would be a repackaged JCPOA agreement with improved verification measures. If so, it would not be a stretch to conclude that the Trump administration fought a war against Iran to get them to agree to reinstitute the JCPOA which Trump continues to claim would have enabled Iran to nuke Israel had he not scrapped it in 2018. It took two years for the US to negotiate the 109 page long Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in 2015 but Trump seems to think he can negotiate a new Iran nuke deal in sixty days. But there is no indication that Iran would be willing to surrender 97 percent of its enriched uranium as it did back in 2015.
