Ambassador Waltz is fantasizing here, on live television. If he thinks he is going to “dictate“ terms on the release of Iranian frozen assets, and expect Tehran to submit to the demands, he is deeply mistaken. Unless, there is some other huge give that the United States is going to make in order to convince Iran to use their own money to buy agricultural products from American farmers, this is an idea that it’s dead on arrival. The only way Iran would agree to such terms, is if you give them something else of substantial value that has not yet been discussed. But if America tries to “dictate“ to Iran how they’re going to spend their own money, you’re never going to get to an agreement. They have leverage we don’t, or we would never have sought a cease-fire and we would’ve continued fighting. That obvious reality has clearly not set in at the highest levels of our government, which causes great concern on my part that we will ever reach a negotiated settlement, whether 60 days or 600 days. Until we accept the reality of this situation, that we no longer get to dictate anything, but we have to engage in genuine diplomacy – and that means give something to get something – we’re going to end up with nothing.

Waltz: Iran is going to buy American crops. Ingraham: Where is that in the agreement? Waltz: This is an MOU, just 14 points, the details of which are being negotiated right now as we speak
