The fact that Trump has threatened to "blow up" a GCC member state only confirms that the security model most Arab countries have long relied upon - which consists of outsourcing their security to the United States through the establishment of American military bases - is deeply defective at its core.
In reality, this was never genuine security partnership but a form of soft takeover that has steadily eroded their independence and sovereignty.
