They were Kurdish communists fighting the government, not peaceful protesters. 40,000 dead would be worse than Babi Yar. The propaganda showed 12 body bags.
The lie serves a purpose: justify the war. Dehumanize Iran. Make the regime look like genocidal monsters - while Israel does the exact same things in Gaza and Lebanon
