Prof. Jeffrey Sachs: "China was supposed to develop in a way that is subservient to the United States (they didn’t)…now they have to be punished.” A reminder as Trump visits China that the entire US’ mounting pressure against Beijing for a coming war is because not only did China develop in a way that wasn’t subservient to Washington, like Japan… But China also built a better economic system, which is obvious to Americans and the rest of the world. The US wants to weaken China to stop Americans asking ‘why can’t we live like that?’ or ‘why can we not have that infrastructure here?’
