Arab countries must understand that Iran’s patience has finally run out.

Arab countries must understand that Iran’s patience has finally run out. For too long, Iran exercised strategic restraint and forbearance in the face of repeated provocations. That tolerance, however, was consistently misread as weakness. Those days are over. Iran will no longer play a game in which its goodwill is exploited and its security is constantly undermined. Over the past four decades, many Arab states have actively supported or enabled nearly every major act of aggression directed against Iran. When hardline, anti-Iran administrations took power in Washington, these countries felt emboldened and moved openly to back hostile policies. When more moderate American administrations emerged, they paid public lip service to “regional peace” and “dialogue,” while quietly working through extensive networks of lobbies, PR firms, think tanks, and media outlets to steer U.S. policy back toward sanctions and confrontation. They worked systematically to sabotage the JCPOA, hosted American and other foreign military bases explicitly oriented against Iranian interests, provided safe havens and operational platforms for Israeli intelligence and Mossad activities, and faithfully amplified Israel’s most toxic narratives about Iran. Behind closed doors, as revealed in leaked diplomatic cables, senior Arab officials urged the United States to strike “the head of the snake", including recent calls to destroy its navy. All the while, they rejected or undermined every serious Iranian initiative aimed at détente and normalization. Iran has taken note of this pattern. The era of unilateral restraint is ending. Arab capitals should recalibrate their approach accordingly before the current trajectory leads to far more dangerous confrontations.

Iran's dangerous escalation and targeting of civilians is nothing but a moral bankruptcy for a regime that has chosen aggression as its approach to dealing with its neighbors. The UAE's firm and principled stance will not be intimidated by this escalation, nor will it allow it to x.com/mofauae/status…
