Who can even believe a word out of the White House anymore?
I’m not sure who the president thinks he’s fooling by claiming there are no leaders in Iran, because obviously there are, and they are out front and clearly identifiable.
But to just claim “I have the cards“ when you don’t have any of the leverage that’s necessary to end the war – and that means to compel Iran to open up the SOH, give up it’s enriched uranium, agree to stop re-processing enriched material, agree to give up its long range missiles, and agree to stop all support for its regional allies.
There is not enough weaponry in the entirety of the US Armed Forces - especially without an army – to compel compliance from a country that is as big as most of western Europe, whose entire western flank is covered with mountain ranges, where it’s missile factories are located under granite mountains.
It simply doesn’t exist.
The longer the White House continues trying to prop up fiction that may trick markets for a period of time, and may delude the faithful followers, it won’t change the physical reality that there is an ongoing disruption of oil supply that is profoundly needed for global GDP creation, and without which, we are going to be under serious financial strains.
At some point, the fiction and the play-acting is gonna have to stop, and serious statecraft will have to start. The longer that day of reckoning takes to arrive, the deeper will b the cost of our failure on all regular Americans, as well as our allies in Asia and in Europe.
