J.K. Rowling used a staged photo from 2022 to posture about “freedom” for Iranian women. So even the image was theatre. And when actual 172 Iranian schoolgirls were killed, she had no outrage, no solidarity, no urgency. That is the whole Western liberal trick: weaponize women’s suffering when it serves empire, erase it when the blood is inconvenient. Selective justice is not justice. It is vanity wearing a halo.

If you claim to support human rights yet can’t bring yourself to show solidarity with those fighting for their liberty in Iran, you’ve revealed yourself. You don’t give a damn about people being oppressed and brutalised so long as it’s being done by the enemies of your enemies.
