Arab countries allowed the United States to establish permanent bases on their territory, ignoring repeated warnings from Iran about the perils of “rented security.”
The outcome has been exactly as predicted: no real protection, only exposure. Those bases proved to be liabilities, their leaders were publicly insulted and humiliated by the U.S. president, and now they are expected to pay for American adventurism.
If they end up paying, it will only show one thing: they’ve learned nothing!
