Germany, let me help: that's called the truth. And as long as you and other European countries refuse to grapple with it, there's little hope for Europe.
China succeeds in large parts because they operate in reality, in fact it's one of their cardinal governance principles since the time of Deng Xiaoping, they call it "seek truth from facts" (实事求是, shí shì qiú shì).
It's incidentally why they were better prepared for the consequences of the war than almost any country (even, ironically, the US itself: x.com/i/status/20385): they very much expected the US would pull something like this.
